You really like us! The DIS7HD wins the Hometoys.com reader's choice contest.

The votes are in and Atlona Technologies walks away as the CEDIA Home Tech Innovation Contest winner, presented by HomeToys.com. Atlona’s entry of the 7” HD Testing Monitor was voted on by HomeToys.com readers. The contest had 24 entrants and garnered well over 2000 reader votes with 811 of those going to Atlona. The solutions based manufacturer of Audio Video accessories successfully showcased the 7 inch HD Testing Monitor that every major installer and integrator has been waiting for at CEDIA 2010.  Unlike many other monitors available, the DIS7-PROHD does not limit its potential by segregating its testing uses to one specific format. While previous units similar to it have only HDMI or DVI to test recent additions to existing installation projects, Atlona has realized that there are many more applications integrators and installers face other than digital formats. As a result, the DIS7-PROHD can test all digital formats, as well as VGA and Component. An additional function allows users the ability to view signal information such as HDCP compliance, Resolution and Frequency, Digital format, and Audio information. The AT-DIS7-PROHD also features an EDID learning function that allows this unit to virtually copy the extended display identification data from any HDTV to accurately mimic that TV for testing purposes. Not only can video be viewed in exact representation, but built in speakers have been added for audio as well. To meet the ever-growing trend, 3D Capability will also be available for those in need.
Portability is a necessity for any install; therefore a battery pack will be available to travel with this 7 inch monitor to spec out different locations of a project site. Multiple control options including manual as well as IR Remote will increase accessibility to test with this monitor or verify audio and video settings on remote displays. 7 inch monitors alone, without these added and essential accessories, can cost anywhere up to $800.  With the purchase of that as well as additional testing equipment, users will be forced to spend more money than one would care to. This unit is available for well under the price of that normal 7” HD monitor. This new unit was a Finalist in the CEPro Best Awards and took home the Custom Retailer Exc!te Award at CEDIA 2010. With the most recent acquisition of the Hometoys.com’s CEDIA Home Tech Innovation Award, the DIS7-PROHD remains the perfect way for installers and integrators to say goodbye to wasting valuable time and money, ripping apart walls and ordering multiple testing equipment in order to trouble-shoot install issues.

Atlona Technologies Releases new HDMI EDID Recorder-Writer with Serial Control tool, the AT-HDSync

The analog to digital transition in the AV world is almost complete, but still plagued by sync issues. As a solution based manufacturer of Audio Video accessories, Atlona Technologies strives to eliminate the issues end users and installers face, no matter the application. When desired HD sources are unable able to recognize displays, and vice versa, this inability to display the image properly if at all, can make the difference between a successful install, or having margin eaten away from return visits. Atlona has officially released a guaranteed fix to sync issues with the new HDSync. This companion to their previous DVI EDID Recorder (AT-DVISync) can emulate the EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) information. It can record EDID/DDC (Display Data Channel) information of any desired HD display, and place that recorded information between the source and the conjoint component (ie: switcher, extender, processor, etc…). Essentially, this unit will trick the source into thinking that it is connected to the display the entire time.

Atlona’s HDSync stores the EDID information and recalls a default EDID setting in non-volatile memory that supports HDCP handshaking. AT-HDSync allows your HDMI source to boot directly from AT-HDSync, so users can detach the monitor from the HDMI connection at any time while installing. In addition, the HDSync can read and store the EDID of your HDMI display and give users the ability to modify the EDID and upload the modified EDID to displays.

The AT-HDSync will be on display at CEDIA 2010 in Atlanta, Georgia and is currently available with an MSRP of $149.00

Atlona announces three new product categories for the AV industry

tlona Technologies, a solutions based manufacturer of Audio video accessories, announces the inception of three new product categories aimed at the specific needs of individual markets.

Seeking a way to better serve their primary markets, Atlona Technologies announces today the separation of their products into three product categories; Atlona CE (Consumer Electronics), Atlona Si (System Integrator), and Atlona Signature (Professional, Commercial). Atlona Technologies has provided the AV industry with solution based products that cover areas typically missing in most AV setups. The decision to form three branches within their overall product line was made in order to develop products that better serve the specific needs of each market.

Atlona CE, a line geared specifically toward end users and retail purchasers, includes products such as The AT-HDAiR, Atlona’s wireless USB to HDMI converter. “We will continue to provide the highest quality to our consumer purchasers” Said Jim Savitskiy, Atlona’s Retail Sales Director “These products will be simple and easy to use solutions that anyone can install and operate.” Atlona CE lines will continue to be carried by major retailers such as Tiger Direct, and online vendors such as Buy.com or Amazon.

Atlona Si, The system integrator line, will include products that require a little more AV know-how, and will most often be installed by a CEDIA, or commercially certified installers. This line will include products such as the DIS7-HD, Atlona’s HD testing monitor. The Atlona Si line will provide a full range of solutions that cover almost every conceivable issue one may face in any Home Theater, or light commercial AV system. The Si line will continue to be carried by major distributors such as Stampede and Electronic Custom Distributing (ECD).

Atlona Signature will include Atlona’s most industrious products such as their large format DVI matrix switchers. Typically these products will find their home in large scale digital signage, Government, Military, and heavy commercial applications. This line will be geared toward commercial integrators, and will provide a level of quality and reliability that is necessary for even the most mission critical AV systems such as Medical imaging, and military intelligence comm. centers.

All previously existing Atlona products have been separated into the three new categories, with new products already in development. For more information about Atlona’s products lines please visit their website at www.atlona.com

Atlona Technologies releases their most advanced HDMI1.3 Audio De-Embedder with 2x1 HDMI switching capabilities as well as 3D support.

Atlona Technologies, a leading manufacturer of AV connectivity products, has announced the official release of their newest high quality HDMI 1.3 Audio De-Embedder designed for users to isolate high quality digital audio signal from multiple HDMI sources. The AT-HD577 is an advanced, professional version of the previous AT-HD570. The AT-HD577 offers a number of options for re-routing the audio including standard stereo (RCA) audio, digital coaxial, and optical. The beneficial purpose of replacing the AT-HD577 with RCA instead of the AT-HD570’s 3.5mm ports was specifically for the purpose of more conventional audio ports for easier connection to you home theater, or alternative audio sources. To broaden the spectrum of HDMI audio output, high quality 7.1 channel analog audio outputs and stereo S/PDIF in both Toslink and RCA connectors are seamlessly integrated into this new unit.

With embedded 3D support capabilities, Atlona’s AT-HD577 is the perfect product for applications from Home Theater installations, with surround sound capabilities, to digital signage applications in which audio from an HD Display will be routed to a multi channel audio set-up. By offering the highest compatibility to HDMI 1.3 in the market today, the HD577 will truly enrich full digital video and audio experiences in the cost-effective and efficient manner.

Atlona Technologies Releases New Dual Link DVI Extenders Over 3 CAT5/6/7, the AT-DVID30SR

Atlona Technologies, solution based manufacturer of Audio/Video connectivity products, releases their all new Dual Link DVI Extenders over 3 CAT5/6/7

Atlona Technologies announces today the official release of the AT-DVID30SR, Dual Link DVI Extender over three CAT5/6/7 cables.  This Transmitter and Receiver unit is the perfect extension tool for long distance high-resolution DVI display needs. Integrators have been plagued by distance limitation of Dual link DVI for quite some time. Dual link DVI cables have a maximum distance of 15 feet before you lose resolution. Instead of using a long DVI cable, the DVID30SR allows integrators to utilize existing CAT5/6/7 cables to replace DVI cables while performing the same functions like transferring 12 bit Deep color with a bandwidth of up to 6.75 Gbps and without signal loss.  Atlona’s new DVI Extender units are stocked full of features including supported Extended Display Identification Data (EDID) for storing necessary data and Consumer Electronics Control (CEC). Atlona’s unique device also features a built-in equalizer and Hot Plug Detect (HPD) function that allows users to enjoy a smooth and quick image display.
This Dual Link DVI extender is ideal for those that want to achieve the highest resolution possible while running a display in a remote location at great distances.   These units maintain high resolution video up to 2560x1600 at 100ft with CAT5, 125ft with CAT6 and 150ft with CAT7.  These extenders are ideal for high resolution displays such as the Apple 30” Cinema and all large scale projectors such as BARCO 2K projectors, and are the first and only solution for such long distance quality that had never been present before. This unit meets the demands of customers that require a high level of detail and distortion free images. The DVID30SR supports high resolution up to 2560 x 1600 and is DVI 1.0, HDCP1.1 and is HDMI 1.3 compliant
The new AT-DVID30SR comes with both the Transmitter and Receiver units and are currently available with an MSRP of $549.00

Atlona Technologies announces a host of new features for their award winning HDAiR including point to multi-point and Macintosh compatibility.

The HDAiR is Atlona Technologies’ award-winning USB-to-HDMI wireless converter. This device allows any user with a computer to connect wirelessly to any HDTV or VGA monitor. Most recently, this device has made headlines winning the Audioholics Consumer Excellence award. Today, Atlona announces new features for the HDAiR including point to multi-point, and Macintosh compatibility.

The first release of the HDAiR in 2009 was a video-only solution. After its release, users from around the world responded to Atlona’s customer survey asking what additional features could make the HDAiR even better. The overall consensus was to add audio support. Atlona responded by releasing an all new HDAiR with the ability to output audio in both 3.5mm analog, as well as embedded on the HDMI output, making it a viable solution for a much broader range of users. This latest update to the HDAiR allows users to connect up to 4 receivers to a single transmitter, making it even more beneficial in educational environments, as well as localized digital signage and retail. This update also allows full Mac support, making it compatible with the most commonly used OS’s (Window XP, Vista and 7, OSX 10.4 or higher).

Like the older model AT-HDAiR, this newer model with audio still uses Ultra wide band (UWB) frequencies to transmit Audio and Video signal.

The new AT-HDAiR, is capable of extending any computer wirelessly from the display at lengths up to 30ft with HDTV resolutions up to 720p or PC and VESA resolutions at 1440x1050. With this user friendly new version, the HDAiR is perfect for viewing continuously popular streaming media from HULU or Youtube, as well as computer-based leaning programs such as Rosetta Stone or Lynda Online Training and also perfect for viewing pictures or downloadable movies from laptop. Basically, the HDAiR creates the identical or extended screen of your laptop desktop on your big screen HDTV or Projector.

With quick and easy installation, the all new HDAiR with Audio opens up a world of possibilities for home, business, and educational users providing a cost effective and convenient solution to integrate PC’s and laptops into HD audio video systems.

Atlona Technologies to unveil HDMI Pro AV 16x16 HDMI 1.3 over CAT5/6 Matrix Switch with 16 HDMI local outputs, AT-PROHD1616M-SR

Atlona Technologies, solutions based manufacturer of Audio Video products, releases the most industrious Pro AV Matrix Switcher on the market at InfoComm 2010, the AT-PROHD1616M-SR.

Integrators taking advantage of the many benefits of HDMI’s digital format have been hitting a wall when it comes to large format true matrix switching. While some matrix switches offer formats up to 8x8, many use what is called cross point switching, allowing each input to be viewed only on a single output. Other switches that offer true matrix switching are not HDCP compliant. Atlona’s newest switcher, the AT-PROHD1616M-SR, breaks down many barriers for integrators allowing true matrix HDCP compliant switching for up to 16 inputs.

Atlona Technologies has been consistently made headway in the AV industry with the continuous release of Matrix Switchers for all formats.  The newest addition to this Matrix line is no doubt their most advanced and industrious HDMI1.3 Matrix Switcher in the market today, the AT-PROHD1616M-SR. This Pro AV model is a True 16x16:2 HDMI matrix switcher featuring 16 HDMI 1.3 inputs, and eight independently switchable HDMI and Twister Pair outputs to feed eight separate displays simultaneously. This unit also has the ability of equalization, amplification and re-clocking the signal to ensure accurate HDMI signal transmission through long cables without quality loss. Each output features 1 HDMI and 2 Twisted Pair connections where both are active at the same time. Twisted Pair outputs are used to connect to the eight included receiver modules.

Unlike any other, this Atlona 16x16:2 Matrix has a total of seven available switching modes including; key buttons, touch panel, local IR, IR call back from remote locations, RS232, RS485 and Ethernet. “Atlona is extremely excited for installers to reap the benefits of this installers many control functions as well as numerous beneficial attributes,” says Atlona Product Manager Michael Khain. Two Such products are the AT-MDP12 and AT-MDP14.

Atlona Technologies’ AT-MDP12 is a 1 input to 2 outputs Mini DisplayPort splitter while the AT-MDP14 works as a 1 input to 4 output MDP Splitter. Atlona Technologies Revolutionizes the High Definition World with new HDMI 1.4 Cables

Atlona Technologies, leading solutions based manufacturer of Audio Video accessories, Revolutionizes the AV Industry with HDMI1.4 Cables

Atlona Technologies gained a substantial market share in the custom installation market in 2006 with the release of their HDMI 1.3b Flat cable, designed to maximize distance and eliminate conductor cross talk. Today, Atlona announces the release of their first ever HDMI 1.4 cables, implementing the “flat” cable design.

New content is being produced daily that will utilize recent advances in AV technology including embedded rich content from the web, and 3D video. With HDMI 1.4, this content is now available for viewing in home theaters around the world. 3D video in particular is making its way to home viewers by summer of 2010, however; this content requires HDMI 1.4. HDMI’s latest specification supports several 3D formats including Frame Alternative, Line Alternative, Field Alternative, and several other popular formats. 3D formats are driving film makers to create tons of new content, including movies, games, and more. Panasonic and DirecTV have teamed up to create multiple 3D channels available to 3D Display owners, while Discovery Channel recently announced its plans with IMAX and Sony to offer a 3D channel of their own. These content providers are driving the 3D home revolution, while companies like Atlona are making the cables users will need to get that content on their screens.

Atlona Technologies, a leading audio video connectivity solutions manufacturer, has always been poised on the cutting edge of advances in the AV industry. This new line of cables is designed to surpass the specification requirements of HDMI 1.4, as with previous versions of the Flat HDMI cable line. “We rejected the notion of good, better, best early on, thinking everyone deserves the ‘best’ quality, but pay the ‘good’ price” says Christopher Bundy, Director of Marketing with Atlona Technologies.

Atlona cables feature a flat design that allows the cable to conform to flat surfaces such as a floor or wall, however; the reason for them being flat is better performance. “In a round cable, you have a bunch of conductors smashed around a drain (ground), but the shielding between conductors typically not enough to prevent distortion, especially at long distance” say Michael Khain, Head of Product Development with Atlona. Atlona new Flat HDMI 1.4 cables are not only designed sleek and smart, but also with a hint of green thanks to Atlona’s continuing devotion to Restrict Hazardous Material such as Lead and other materials from their production. The cables not only bare the ROhS certification, but are UL certified for in wall use (CL3).

Atlona’s New HDMI 1.4 cables are currently shipping in lengths ranging from 3 to 50 feet starting at $39.99.
