Atlona Technologies officially releases two new SDI Converters for the Broadcasting Community, the AT-SDI220 and AT-SDI230
Atlona Technologies, solutions based manufacturer of Audio Video accessories, has just announced the release of their newest SDI Converters for the Broadcast and Security market. These new SDI converters are the AT-SDI220 and the AT-SDI230. The AT-SDI220 is an analog video to SDI converter with audio. The AT-SDI230 is designed for those looking to go the opposite direction, acting as a SDI to Analog video converter with audio.
Atlona’s AT-SDI220 is designed to convert 1 x component analog (3 x BNC input), S-video (2 x BNC input), and 1 x composite video (1 x BNC input), to up to two SDI outputs. In addition, this unit supports resolutions of 525i at 30hrz and 635i at 25hrz. An essential benefit of the AT-SDI220 is the ability to convert an output from a video camera or security camera, and feed it directly into the desired SDI capture device.
The AT-SDI230 is designed to convert a single SDI input to 1 x SDI loop out, 1 x component analog output, an S-Video output, and a composite video output. A unique feature to the SDI230 is its ability to support NTSC/PAL/SECAM. This unit is ideal for users looking to convert an output from a video mixer or camera in order to view on a local display or to feed the needed information into the capture card for recording.
These SDI converter feature phoenix audio connections, giving them the capability of 2 channel audio with the support of 525i30 and 625i25 formats. Input formats for both models can be selected by the dip switches located on the sides of each device. The compact design of these units will allow these converters to remain out of sight in any installation environment. Atlona Technologies Releases New 3G/HD/SD-SDI Pattern Generator supporting resolutions up to 1080p
Atlona Technologies, an Audio/Video solutions based company, officially releases their newest Signal Pattern Generator for professional broadcast.
Atlona Technologies, solutions based manufacturer of Audio Video connectivity products, has announced the release of their newest signal generator designed to test Audio Video systems using SD-SDI, HDSDI, or 3GSDI formats. The AT-3GSDI500 is an advanced SDI pattern generator from their previous AT-HDSDI500, now with multi-format (3G/HD/SD) and multi-pattern support. Atlona has spared no expense with the AT-3GSDI500 signal generator; packed with a variety of features provided such as still and motion video test patterns, and audio (SMPTE-291M), to name a few. These Signal Pattern Generators allow broadcast professionals the affordable solution to test existing 3G/HD/SD-SDI infrastructures as well as compatibility when adding components, cameras, and cabling.
The 3GSDI500 supports a wide variety of output resolutions ranging from 525 at 60 Hz for SD-SDI to 1080P at 60 Hz for 3G-SDI with 14 other options in between. This unit is capable SD- 270Mbps for SDI, 1.485Gbps and 1.4835Gbps HD-SDI, and 2.97Gbps or 2.967Gbps for 3G-SDI. Users will find the unit easy to operate due to its simple to navigate LCM and a four button panel. The AT-3GSDI500 can support up to 8 channel AES compliant audio with a 48KHz sample rate. Another attractive feature is the ability to bypass the HDMI input and allowing users more testing patterns for connected displays. This will also treat the AT-3GSDI500 as an advanced HDMI to SDI converter with 3G capability. The unit also features dual 3G capable SDI outputs allowing the simultaneous testing of multiple signal pathways. Atlona Technologies Releases New Dual Link DVI Extenders Over 3 CAT5/6/7, the AT-DVID30SR

Atlona Technologies announces today the official release of the AT-DVID30SR, Dual Link DVI Extender over three CAT5/6/7 cables. This Transmitter and Receiver unit is the perfect extension tool for long distance high-resolution DVI display needs. Integrators have been plagued by distance limitation of Dual link DVI for quite some time. Dual link DVI cables have a maximum distance of 15 feet before you lose resolution. Instead of using a long DVI cable, the DVID30SR allows integrators to utilize existing CAT5/6/7 cables to replace DVI cables while performing the same functions like transferring 12 bit Deep color with a bandwidth of up to 6.75 Gbps and without signal loss. Atlona’s new DVI Extender units are stocked full of features including supported Extended Display Identification Data (EDID) for storing necessary data and Consumer Electronics Control (CEC). Atlona’s unique device also features a built-in equalizer and Hot Plug Detect (HPD) function that allows users to enjoy a smooth and quick image display.

Atlona Technologies Revolutionizes the High Definition World with new HDMI 1.4 Cables

Atlona Technologies gained a substantial market share in the custom installation market in 2006 with the release of their HDMI 1.3b Flat cable, designed to maximize distance and eliminate conductor cross talk. Today, Atlona announces the release of their first ever HDMI 1.4 cables, implementing the “flat” cable design.
New content is being produced daily that will utilize recent advances in AV technology including embedded rich content from the web, and 3D video. With HDMI 1.4, this content is now available for viewing in home theaters around the world. 3D video in particular is making its way to home viewers by summer of 2010, however; this content requires HDMI 1.4. HDMI’s latest specification supports several 3D formats including Frame Alternative, Line Alternative, Field Alternative, and several other popular formats. 3D formats are driving film makers to create tons of new content, including movies, games, and more. Panasonic and DirecTV have teamed up to create multiple 3D channels available to 3D Display owners, while Discovery Channel recently announced its plans with IMAX and Sony to offer a 3D channel of their own. These content providers are driving the 3D home revolution, while companies like Atlona are making the cables users will need to get that content on their screens.

Atlona cables feature a flat design that allows the cable to conform to flat surfaces such as a floor or wall, however; the reason for them being flat is better performance. “In a round cable, you have a bunch of conductors smashed around a drain (ground), but the shielding between conductors typically not enough to prevent distortion, especially at long distance” say Michael Khain, Head of Product Development with Atlona. Atlona new Flat HDMI 1.4 cables are not only designed sleek and smart, but also with a hint of green thanks to Atlona’s continuing devotion to Restrict Hazardous Material such as Lead and other materials from their production. The cables not only bare the ROhS certification, but are UL certified for in wall use (CL3).
